History

The company began its operation as SAFT Accounting Services in 2001. During that year, Beatrice Muganda-Slaughter pursued the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation and then went on to obtain her CPA certification. In January of 2004, Ms. Muganda-Slaughter registered her accounting firm with the North Carolina State Board of CPA Examiners, changed the company name to Slaughter, CPA and began offering audit and review services.

Experience

As the founder of Slaughter, CPA, Ms. Muganda- Slaughter’s entrepreneurial career was launched in 2001 when she formed SAFT Accounting Services. Prior to striking out on her own, Ms. Muganda-Slaughter spent over 13 years working for area companies in both the service and manufacturing industry. During her tenure in private industry, Ms. Muganda-Slaughter held various positions and gained hands on experience in many areas of accounting. In her last position, Ms. Muganda-Slaughter was the Financial Controller for a manufacturing company and had responsibility for dealing with the company’s outside auditors, supervision of year-end close functions, preparation of fiscal budgets, forecasts, cash flow and financial statement; taxes, A/P, A/R, G/L, fixed assets, inventory control, payroll processing, process improvement and documentation, accounting system implementation.
